CompuGroup Medical SE - Third Quarter Results 2017
Koblenz, November 9, 2017 - Today, CompuGroup Medical SE (CGM) presented the financial report for the third quarter of 2017. The company plays a leading role in the development of global e-health solutions and enjoys market leadership in Germany as well as in other key European countries. CGM achieved revenue of EUR 138 million compared to EUR 136 million in the same period last year. The operating profit (EBITDA) reached EUR 28 million, same as in the third quarter 2016.

All business segments continue the trends from the beginning of the year in the third quarter with overall positive developments. For the first nine months of 2017 combined, revenue reached EUR 419 million, up from EUR 407 million last year. EBITDA reached EUR 92 million, up from EUR 89 million in the first three quarters of 2016.

In addition, CGM's ambulatory and dentist information systems as well as the hospital information system already received official approval for the productive operation within the Telematics Infrastructure (TI) in October. To be able to use the TI's advantages in due time, doctors, dentists, and psychotherapists need various TI components and services. The outcome of CGM's sales campaign was successful: In total, already 9,000 doctor and dental practices have ordered a TI connection package for an installation date in 2017.

Equally successful was the CGM CLINICAL deployment in the State Hospital of Feldkirch, Austria. This is the largest and most complex of the five hospitals in the roll out process for Vorarlberg's Hospital Betriebs GmbH (KHBG): It has more than 25 wards, 36,000 in-patient stays, 1,600 staff and about 600 nurses. The comprehensive HIS (Hospital Information System) implementation with KHBG represents the first time CGM has mapped essential core clinical processes using the CGM CLINICAL suite. With this go-live, CGM has now created the first truly large-scale and productive reference for the CGM CLINICAL hospital product and with a considerable proportion of this HIS solution now using new G3-based technology.

Frank Gotthardt, CEO and Chairman of the Board of CompuGroup Medical SE, stated: "We were able to provide a stable operating margin despite high ramp-up costs to prepare for the roll-out of the Telematics Infrastructure in Germany. Also, CGM has prepared an accelerated deployment process to install a substantial number of practices this year. The TI offers one of the most secure frame in healthcare systems worldwide. In this space, numerous and enormously important applications will be developed within the coming months and years - realizing the vast potential that lies within those products and solutions. As for the second point, the current success we are enjoying with KHBG in Austria is putting us in a strong starting position in terms of achieving an effective placement of CGM CLINICAL in our target markets."

CGM reaffirms the full year 2017 guidance presented in the 2016 Annual Report. Group revenue is expected to be in the range of EUR 600 million and EUR 630 million and operating profit (EBITDA) between EUR 138 million and EUR 150 million.
